Shailesh Magar.

Founder, Kalax Enterprises

I'm Shailesh Magar — most people call me Sam. Kalax Enterprises is the business; I founded it and lead its work, from understanding a business problem through to building what is warranted.

When you work with Kalax, you work directly with me, and I review every problem submitted through Diagnose personally.

How I approach the work

Problem first. Technology where it earns its place.

I start with the business: what is actually getting in the way, what constraints it works under, and what would need to change. The technology comes after that.

My work spans business operations, software, automation, information systems, and marketing and search intelligence. That breadth matters because the right response differs. Sometimes it is a build. Sometimes it is an integration, an automation, an advisory conversation or a clearly written requirement — and sometimes the honest recommendation is not to build anything.

Principles

What I hold to.

Problem before tool

A technology is chosen because the problem calls for it — not because it is new, or because it is familiar.

Understand before building

What is actually slowing the business down comes first. A build is one possible answer, not the assumed one.

Build only what earns its place

Every system is something to run and maintain. If a simpler change solves the problem, that is the recommendation.

What I've built

The work behind the thinking.

Through Kalax I have built systems for clients — including workflow automation for an agency, a WhatsApp booking system and a private knowledge system over sensitive documents — and CrossIQ, a marketing intelligence product that Kalax builds and maintains. Client work is anonymised; the problems, systems and technical decisions are on the Work page.

A business problem — or a clear requirement?

Not sure what's needed? Start with Diagnose — technology isn't presumed. Already know what you need? Email the requirement and discuss scope.
